Where do the numbers come from?

Every value in Falloff is an estimate, calculated from manufacturer photometric data using inverse-square physics. We never call it measured — on set, a light meter is still the source of truth. Falloff is for the decisions you make before the truck is packed.

Is it free?

The full fixture database — 93 fixtures — is free, along with the physics. During the TestFlight beta the whole app is free. Final pricing is decided after the beta.

Does it need an account or the internet?

No account, no login. Everything runs on your device. See the privacy policy for what the app records (anonymous, on-device, and off by a toggle in Settings).

How do I join the beta?

The TestFlight beta is opening soon. Email philip@gripdude.net with "beta" and we'll add you when the next round opens.

Which fixtures are included?

93 fixtures across Aputure, Nanlite, Nanlux, ARRI and Godox — LED, HMI, Tungsten and tubes. You can also add a custom fixture with your own lux-at-1m value.
