Privacy Policy

Your data stays on your device.

Falloff is a pre-light calculator. It has no accounts, no ads, and no third-party trackers. As of this version, nothing the app handles leaves your phone. If you ask for a launch notice on this website, that email address is stored on our server — set out on its own below.

Who we are

Falloff is published by GripTools, a sole proprietorship based in Seoul, Republic of Korea, operated by Philip (승학). The person responsible for personal data (개인정보 보호책임자) is the proprietor. Contact: philip@gripdude.net.

What the app records — on your device only

Falloff keeps two kinds of local records to help us improve the app. Both stay on your device and are not linked to you.

  • Anonymous usage events. The app logs which features you use (for example, creating a setup, adding a light, exporting or sharing a card). Each record carries only the event name, a timestamp, and a session identifier that is regenerated every time the app launches. It contains no name, email, device ID, or other identifier. This is on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings at any time.
  • Crash and performance diagnostics. The app uses Apple's MetricKit to record crash and performance data locally, with no third-party SDK. Turning off usage logging in Settings also stops these local writes.

As of this version, none of this data is transmitted anywhere. It exists only on your device and is used for on-device inspection.

Payments

If you purchase anything, Apple's App Store (StoreKit) processes the transaction. We never see or store your payment details.

What we don't do

  • No user accounts or logins.
  • No advertising and no ad networks.
  • No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data.
  • The app collects no personal data — the anonymous usage records above stay on your device.

This website — launch notice signups

If you leave your address in the launch-notice form, we store the email address and nothing else. No name, no company, no phone number.

  • What we collect — your email address
  • Why — to send one notice when Falloff is released
  • How long — deleted after that notice goes out, or sooner if you ask
  • Processors — the site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (US); the address itself is stored with Upstash, Inc. (US). Both handle it only to store and transmit it.
  • Where — those servers are outside Korea. What crosses the border is the email address, for the purpose and period stated above.

Submitting the form is the consent, and declining costs you nothing — the app is unaffected. To be removed at any time, write to philip@gripdude.net and we'll delete it.

Data retention

The app's local records are deleted when you uninstall it. There is no server copy of app data, so nothing outlives the app on your device. Email addresses from the website follow the retention stated under "launch notice signups" above.

Children

Falloff is a professional tool and is not directed at children. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and the launch-notice form is not directed at children either.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change in a future version, we will update this page and revise the effective date above before that version ships. This URL will always hold the current policy.
